Joshua J. K. Henderson is a founding attorney of the Law Office of Carcione, Henderson & Markowitz, LLP. He specializes in complex litigation, representing individuals injured in cases involving product defects, catastrophic injuries, dangerous conditions, traumatic brain injuries, insurance bad faith, slip and falls, elder abuse, civil rights/police misconduct, and motor vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian collisions.
Mr. Henderson also represents small to mid-sized businesses in business disputes. He litigates cases involving partnership disputes, breach of fiduciary duty, real estate litigation, and unfair business practice claims. Regardless of the type of case, he is committed, passionate, and relentlessly advocates on his clients’ behalf.
He knows what it takes to win a case, using seasoned investigators to find evidence and experts and consultants to help persuade juries. Mr. Henderson understands when to employ aggressive tactics and when to finesse the situation. He is respected by judges, adversaries, and peers for his trial skills and professionalism.
Mr. Henderson enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelly, and their two sons, Zachary and Xavier. He is an avid skier and mountain biker who enjoys outdoor pursuits with his family.
Joseph Carcione Jr. is the son of one of the country’s most respected names in consumer advocacy, Joe Carcione, the Green Grocer. Joe Carcione, Sr. was on national television every night of the week instructing the nation’s consumers on choosing healthful fruit and produce for 18 years, until his death in 1988.
His son, not surprisingly, has practiced only consumer advocacy law his entire career going against the largest corporations such as Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Alaska Airlines, BNSF… and WON! The list goes on and on, but because of Mr. Carcione’s success in court, these corporations changed their standard of practice to ensure the safety of the consumer.
Joseph Carcione Jr. was admitted to the State Bar of California on December 19, 1973.
As a 30-year career Police Officer and Firefighter with the City and County of San Francisco, Matthew J. McNaughton joined the Carcione team after being admitted to the State Bar of California in 2003.Founding Attorney Joseph Carcione’s commitment to injured workers in his beloved City of San Francisco was a perfect fit for Mr. McNaughton’s colleagues in need. Representing injured Peace Officers, Sheriffs, Paramedics, and Firefighters has been our goal and practice for the last 20 years.
Mr. McNaughton represents safety workers through the matrix of issues surrounding California Workers Compensation Law. Cases litigated include difficult employee death cases to complex cumulative trauma cases resulting from the rigors of public safety. A minefield of law in the area of Public Safety Presumptions is applied when appropriate to the applicant’s case. Particular attention is paid to the intricate interaction between the Workers Compensation System and other legal issues. These issues include pursuit of Industrial Disability Retirement with Public Entities such as CalPers and SFERS, and the interaction with Social Security Disability. Mr. McNaughton’s years of experience in Peace Officer and Firefighter Bill of Rights investigations and litigation bring a unique knowledge base to help resolve the injured workers’ many challenges after a work injury.
When not practicing law, Mr. McNaughton enjoys spending time with family and friends and working on a myriad of building projects which are rarely completed.
